Basic Computer Essentials (Hardware/Software Mobile Cart Training) 

CK4K is a computer training service organization in the Fort Worth/Dallas metroplex.  CK4K teaches and trains basic computer essential concepts (hardware/software skills) in Phase 1 sessons.  This will consist of hands-on computer hardware education that will identify each internal/external device, will address the latest commonly used operating systems, Internet access browser applications, provide direct administrative configuration procedures for local computer management.  Students will be able to focus on the computer fundamentals, enhance the understanding of hardware identification and software application functionality.

 

This phase discusses the importance of anti-virus software concepts, malware protection principals for the computer, anti-spam methodology for the Internet access, website usage procedures and concerns, preventive measures to stop computer abuse & personal exploitation.

Phase 2 of CK4K computer training program changes focus to all core learning practices and principals for the student.  Reading, Basic Phonic, Advanced Phonics, Grammar, Comprehension, Math, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving are the major focal points of training.  

 

Fort Worth/Dallas metroplex is the 4th largest metropolian area in the country.  According to USA Today, the Ft. Worth high school dropout rate is 48.7 % and the Dallas high school dropout rate is 51.3 %.  The average grade that a student drops out of school in Fort Worth/Dallas Independent School Districts is the ninth grade.  What is the age of a student in the ninth grade?  What can these youth do to make a living?  How will this decision impact their quality of life and the econony of this nation for the next generation?

Computer Knowledge 4 Kids is an after-school/summer school program for minority/under-privileged youth, faith-based programs, and local community organizations.  The uniqueness of CK4K's philosophy is to provide mobile computer training units, which can be rolled into your location/site, set-up entire system within thirty (30) minutes, which will simulate the "classroom" environment. 
 Each unit is fully equipped with twenty (20) laptops, on-board self-contained hardware to provide client networking functionality, broadband internet connectivity, on-board printing capability from each workstation, with a wide range of interactive teaching software to unleash the power of the computer into the education process.
The program will provide computer training for individuals in a classroom environment utilizing the Hewlett-Packard 20 Notebook Mobility Cart, Microsoft Windows 7 & Vista Operating System, and Office 2007 Suite with other supporting third-party software.  The CK4K Mobile Cart system consists of laptop technology from the following companies: Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba, and Sony.
