Basic Computer Essentials (Hardware/Software Mobile Cart Training)

In 2002, Computer Knowledge 4 Kids was certified and recognized by Internal Revenue Services in the state of Texas.  The challenges of this project are very complex and ever evolving.  For the past three (3) years, CK4K has implemented new and emerging technologies to create, to develop, to further research and test several unique pilot programs to accomplish our goals and achieve our vision.

This period has also been spent developing and locating creative methods to deliver the programs & services to the designated demographic groups and targeted community blocks.  CK4K has researched many proprietary software systems, fully customizable software systems, retail edcational software, and third party software programs as options to expose and train all of our potential students.

In 2005, CK4K worked extensively with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County Plano Branch (Youth & Teen Center) 1111 Avenue H, Plano, Texas 75074, Call: (972) 424-6301, as an after-school program.

Branch Director Karen Johnson & Assistant Director Kareem Evans where instrumental in helping to develop the pilot program.  Both assisted by providing valuable input to help refine the program and training methods to deliver the quality of services CK4K desires.  Below are some of the children that participated in the after-school programs.

In 2009, CK4K has partnered with the Fort Worth Library system to present the Summer School "Computer Basic Essentials" Training Program.  This program included teaching core eduction skills, to include Reading, Phonics, Comprehension, and Math.

CK4K conducted training at the COOL facility (Cavile Outreach Opportunity Library) located at 5060 Avenue G, Fort Worth, Texas 76106-0852 and the BOLD facility (Butler Outreach Library Division) located at 1801 North/South Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 76102-5742.  Here are some of the action photos of the program in progress.

The Minority/Under Privileged community's lack of basic computer concepts and access is having a devastating negative affect on the learning ability of the youth in these specific communities.  Research and statistics have confirmed that these neighborhoods have a disproportionate high school graduation rated and staggering high school dropout rates.

Over the past seven (7) years CK4K has been working to find ways to change the course of the education process and have a positive influence in our community. This will utimately have a positively affect the course of the youth's future growing up in these environments.

In 2003, CK4K began working with the Near Southeast CDC organization in Fort Worth and the City of Fort Worth Parks and Recreations.  These groups have worked with the Fort Worth Community Centers in supporting and organizing "The World Is Yours!" annual back-to-school program.  This event has been growing over the past six years and averaging between one thousand to fifteen hundred youth in attendance each year during the month of August.
