Under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), eligible students in schools that have been in Needs Improvement (NI) status for two or more years may participate in Supplemental Educational Services (SES). Also, students must be eligible to receive free or reduced priced meals to participate in SES.
SES is free additional academic instruction (tutoring) provided outside the regular school day that is designed to increase the academic achievement of low-income students in low-performing schools. The tutoring is provided by state approved service providers selected in various locations near the child's school. The tutoring may take place at the service provider's location, Online, in the student's home or other location.
Eligible students attending the following middle/high schools may participate in SES for the 2010-2011 school year based on the school's Needs Improvement status.
